The Department for Education have recently emphasised the importance of there being ‘a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.’
At Hasland Hall Community School, these values are embedded within the School’s Aims and are promoted throughout the school community and school year.
‘The school is a community in itself but it is also part of a wider community. By creating a vibrant and ordered school community we can ensure that young people can appreciate the richness of living and learning with others. Thus they can develop their empathy and respect for others, a sense of justice and an awareness of the importance of peace and harmony. They can also develop their understanding of the rights and responsibilities which being a member of such a community brings. ‘ Hasland Hall Community School Aims

Year 9 Parents’ Evening provides parents with a valuable opportunity to speak to teachers about their son/daughter’s progress. We would, therefore, ask that all parents attend. Students will be booking appointment times for their parents between 4.15pm and 7pm. If for particular reasons you are unable to attend, please contact the school to arrange an alternative time.
A new Community Choir, meeting every Tuesday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at the school has recently been launched. The aim is to bring together people from the community who would like to share the enjoyment of singing together.
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the school on 01246 273985 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
