Charges for School Activities
Non-residential activities which are linked to the curriculum eg field trips are free of charge, though parents will be encouraged to make voluntary contributions to help cover the costs.
Where musical instrument tuition is requested by parents and provided by specialist tutors, parents pay part of the costs while the School provides a subsidy of up to 33%.
Parents are asked to pay part of the cost of materials and ingredients used by students for practical design courses where they may keep the finished products. During Years 7 to 9, the costs associated with Technology and Textiles products are combined as a single annual charge. Again, financial support can be requested if there are difficulties. All students are expected to bring the necessary ingredients for Food lessons.
Parents are not charged the fees for GCSE entries agreed by both School and parents. They may be charged for entries requested by parents against the School’s recommendation, and for entries ‘wasted’ because a student fails to complete the examination requirements without good cause or does not turn up for the examination.
A new Community Choir, meeting every Tuesday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at the school, is soon to be launched. The aim is to bring together people from the community who would like to share the enjoyment of singing together.
The first gathering will take place on Tuesday 28 November in the Music block. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the school on 01246 273985 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
