Crossbar Challenge – Summer Term 2015
Over the last three months 8CWX have been working hard, planning fundraising activities to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Charity. This charity raises funds for the Children’s Hospital in Sheffield. Several members of our school community have, or are receiving treatment at the hospital and we wanted to give the charity a big THANK YOU back. We decided to hold a ‘Crossbar Challenge’ which would be open to students in all years.
We had many competitors over 2 days of heats and a highly contested Grand Final on Friday 10 July. We had prizes for the winners: two tickets to a Chesterfield FC football game, a football and a dinner pass for the contestant and 4 friends. After a tense final round the winners were:
1st Josh Bradley-Bond 8DT
2nd Robbie Barlow 8AS
3rd Jordan Williamson 9EC and Billy Whitehead 10CW
Overall 8CWX made a total of £47.53 for our chosen charity and hope to increase that amount when students from our tutor group and 8AS hold a “Teddy Tombola” at the Hasland Junior School Summer Fair on Friday 17 July.
