Healthy Heart Month – February 2015
Healthy Heart-aware students and staff at Hasland Hall Community School presented a cheque for over £180 to Les Baynton from the British Heart Foundation charity. Head of PE, Mr Leatherday, who handed over the donation, organised assemblies for all year groups throughout February, Healthy Heart Month, raising awareness of the need to exercise regularly and eat carefully to protect and strengthen the heart. Mr Baynton was delighted with the contribution to the charity’s work, the money being raised by spectators at a Student and Staff Bleep Test Challenge in February.

Year 9 Parents’ Evening provides parents with a valuable opportunity to speak to teachers about their son/daughter’s progress. We would, therefore, ask that all parents attend. Students will be booking appointment times for their parents between 4.15pm and 7pm. If for particular reasons you are unable to attend, please contact the school to arrange an alternative time.
A new Community Choir, meeting every Tuesday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at the school has recently been launched. The aim is to bring together people from the community who would like to share the enjoyment of singing together.
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the school on 01246 273985 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
