New York February Half-Term 2015
During February half-term, a group of Year 10 and Year 11 students went on what was unanimously voted, the “trip of a lifetime” to the Big Apple! The trip was led by Mr Sutcliffe and other members of the Design Department.
Highlights of the trip included: Times Square, the Empire State Building, the Top of the Rock at the Rockefeller Centre, Hard Rock Café, a trip to a basketball game in Newark, a boat trip round Manhattan taking in the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero Memorial Museum, Fifth Avenue and the New York Metropolitan Museum. Both students and staff reported a very enjoyable week.

The recruitment packs are available to view on Derbyshire County Council’s website. The closing date is Sunday 21st January 2018.
Year 9 Parents’ Evening provides parents with a valuable opportunity to speak to teachers about their son/daughter’s progress. We would, therefore, ask that all parents attend. Students will be booking appointment times for their parents between 4.15pm and 7pm. If for particular reasons you are unable to attend, please contact the school to arrange an alternative time.
A new Community Choir, meeting every Tuesday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at the school has recently been launched. The aim is to bring together people from the community who would like to share the enjoyment of singing together.
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the school on 01246 273985 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
