Cambridge University Visit – Spring Term 2016
A minibus full of KS4 students from Hasland Hall spent an enjoyable and informative day in Cambridge during the Easter break. An introduction to, and tour of, Murray-Edwards College by School Liaison Officer Catherine Rowley started the day. Having taken part in research and received useful advice on reading around subjects to impress Admissions Officers, students were particularly interested in the college art collection (the biggest of works by women artists in the UK) and the library, as well as the dining arrangements.
The afternoon was spent on a walking tour of Cambridge, with a stroll along “The Backs”, time in the Market area and visits to either the Fitzwilliam Museum or the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
Part of the school’s programme to encourage students to think diversely about their destinations post-16, the trip followed a morning in Hasland Hall school last term led by Catherine and her counterpart from Corpus Christi College, Oxford, Brendan Shepherd.

We would like to invite parents of all children currently in Year 5 and Year 6 to attend our Open Evening on Wednesday 27 September between 6pm and 8pm. Choosing a secondary school for your son/daughter is an important decision and this evening should provide the information you will need.
During the evening there will be an opportunity to look round Hasland Hall, to meet staff in the different teaching areas and to listen to a short presentation from the Headteacher.
