Sports Partnership Active Awards – Autumn Term 2015
Our Ambassadors were nominated for the award of ‘School Sport Organising Committee of the Year’. We had already competed against Netherthorpe School, St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Dronfield Henry Fanshawe, Tupton Hall and Brookfield School in the preliminary round, winning 3 of the 5 categories, and were shortlisted, along with St. Mary’s, for the most prestigious award. We were crowned victorious and received a glowing tribute when our 8 leaders walked up to the stage to collect their well-deserved award. The team have put on a selection of intra-school and inter-school activities for our Key Stage 3 students and they were definitely deserving winners after their sterling efforts to organise the Team Sixteen football project, which was showcased on the Derbyshire FA’s website. The group were superbly managed and assisted by Mrs Sanderson.
