Springboard Future Chef Competition Final – Spring Term 2016
The competition was once again hotting up at the Future Chef East Midlands Regional Final, held at Loughborough College in February. Congratulations go to Hasland Hall’s Year 9 student, Gloria, who successfully made it through to this round of the competition. Gloria presented an excellent main course dish of pan fried English chicken with crispy chicken skin, served with a Moroccan style sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and tender stem broccoli. She had worked under the guidance of Derby Football Club’s Head Chef, Steve Fletcher. Unfortunately Gloria didn’t win this round but enjoyed the experience of competing with others to such a high standard and learning a variety of new culinary skills in the process.
We are looking forward to taking part in the competition again next year.

Year 9 Parents’ Evening provides parents with a valuable opportunity to speak to teachers about their son/daughter’s progress. We would, therefore, ask that all parents attend. Students will be booking appointment times for their parents between 4.15pm and 7pm. If for particular reasons you are unable to attend, please contact the school to arrange an alternative time.
A new Community Choir, meeting every Tuesday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at the school has recently been launched. The aim is to bring together people from the community who would like to share the enjoyment of singing together.
