Visit of Toby Perkins, MP – Summer Term 2016
On Friday 6 May, Toby Perkins, MP for Chesterfield, visited Hasland Hall and met with the School Council (students representing years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11). Mr Perkins and the School Council members discussed ‘how we can reduce racism and religious discrimination in our communities’. This forms part of a wider discussion across the country, headed by The Youth Parliament (of which one of our students is a member).
The Council members also had an opportunity to ask Mr Perkins questions about what had motivated him to go into politics and his political career so far. Members of the Council also took the opportunity to show Mr Perkins around the school site and its facilities.

We would like to invite parents of all children currently in Year 5 and Year 6 to attend our Open Evening on Wednesday 27 September between 6pm and 8pm. Choosing a secondary school for your son/daughter is an important decision and this evening should provide the information you will need.
During the evening there will be an opportunity to look round Hasland Hall, to meet staff in the different teaching areas and to listen to a short presentation from the Headteacher.
