Silver Ambassadors Trip- Autumn Term 2017
Silver Ambassadors is a sporting youth involvement programme and on Tuesday 10th October the ten selected students from Hasland Hall joined others from the area in attending a training event at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua was training while our students were there, joined by Marcus Rashford, Manchester United forward.
Students had the opportunity to use the facilities they have to offer at the EIS, and take part in sporting activities they wouldn’t usually try. They also conducted interviews with the other participants from techniques they were taught. They later had the chance to go back into school groups and discuss plans for the future in our school.
The event was very beneficial and taught students a lot they can pass on in our school, where they especially believe younger year groups will benefit from more extracurricular activities run by us. They also want to raise the profile of the sport in the community, especially young people.
