Andorra Ski Trip – February Half Term 2016
Following a 2am start on Friday 12 February, our 6 staff and 62 students (Years 9, 10 and 11) took a journey to Birmingham Airport for a flight to Barcelona then on to Andorra.
Some fantastic sunny weather for the first few days led to hard skiing but some great panda eyes! Then the temperature dropped to -14 at night and -3 during the day with some good snowfall during the day which was a great experience. Hot chocolate was an excellent way to warm up!
We enjoyed a visit to the capital city – Andorra la Vella, to do a bit of shopping in the local shopping centre. The students enjoyed buying gifts and of cause, McDonalds!
We had several hours of skiing a day, enjoyed our time in the hotel playing pool, air hockey, computer games, cards and a good evening meal to relax and prepare for the next day.
Sledging on the last evening was great fun, again with a hot chocolate to warm us up!
With a 5am start homeward bound, we were ready to hit Hasland in the afternoon for a weekend off before coming back to school on Monday. We had had an excellent trip and a wonderful experience.
