Cambridge Visit – March 2018
Year 10 students enjoyed university-focused activities in and out of school before and during the Easter break.
We welcomed schools liaison officers from Corpus Christi College Oxford and Murray Edwards College Cambridge for a lunchtime briefing session in which students learnt about a range of aspects of university life, from fees and finance to ways in which they can enhance their subject knowledge through “super-curricular” interests.
Students, with staff and parent guides, then visited Cambridge for a day, spending the morning at Murray Edwards College with SLO Catherine Rowley, finding out about routes from GCSE to A level and into University, as well as some details about accommodation and college facilities. Having eaten lunch in the college dining room, the group then walked through Cambridge to visit the University museums of Earth Sciences and the History of Science.
A packed but enjoyable afternoon ended with time exploring Cambridge’s historic market square
